Balloon Cardi Knit Pattern

The Balloon Cardigan is a short cardigan with balloon sleeves accentuated by a tight rib at the wrist. It is worked top down and closed in the front with 4 buttons. 

The button bands are worked in one piece together with the rest of the cardigan - this means that the Balloon Cardigan requires little to no finishing at all. 

The Balloon Cardigan is a cropped piece that works well with high waist jeans or skirts.

Length mid back: 51 (53) 55 (56) 58 cm

Ease: The Balloon Cardi is designed to have about 15 cm of positive ease.

Measure the widest part of your bust and select the size above that is about 15 cm larger.

Gauge: 21 stitches x 29 rows to 10cm in Stocking stitch on 4.00mm needles.

Yarn:

One strand of 4ply / Fingering Weight Yarn held together with one strand of 2ply / Lace Weight Yarn

Alternatively, you can work one single strand of 8ply / DK / Light Worsted Weight Yarn
